Monkey Squad One #8. Pages 12 & 13.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Man, that is one of my all-time favorite page transitions in MS1 history!

But really, page 13 is one of my all time favorite MS1 pages!
ED209 from the RoboCop franchise is a bad ass motherfucking beast of a robot!
I was really happy I got to put it in MS1, but not as happy as Dr. Metropolis was to drive it!

Monkey Squad One #8. Pages 10 & 11.

BLA-BLOOM!

This whole scene is a favorite of mine!
Last issue, the boys were low on ammo & scurrying through the city. Plus, we spent a lot of time with Trik-Eeze & the plot development. This issue I really wanted it to seem like the boys were having a blast in the Zombie Apocalypse! They're super confident & I really think their personalities got to shine in this issue.

There is little in writing comics that I've found is more fun than writing dudes talking crazy-shit on each other!
The Trik-Eeze vs Cletus Whiteheart dynamic is one of the highlights in my comic making experience.

NEXT WEEK:

one of my favorite MS1 moments of all time.

Monkey Squad One #8. Pages 6 & 7.

How cool is the UNDERARCH!?!

Ok, to be honest with y'all, there really is a museum under the arch in real life. And a Black Document Library but the rest I made up.

In case y'all have forgotten, U.N.C.L.E. Travis is a wicked dick.

NEXT WEEK!

DOUBLE-PAGE-SPREAD
DEATH AND DESTRUCTION!

Monkey Squad One #8. Pages 4 & 5.

"The Saddest Song Ever" is real. It's a song I wrote back when me & Cletus were living together and writing songs.
But we'll talk more about that in issue #9.

The gravestones on this page are all marked with the names of dead superheroes at the time. Or superheroes that have been dead before.

Steve Rogers: Captain America
Bruce Wayne: Batman
Kurt Wagner: Nightcrawler
Janet Van Dyne: The Wasp
Peter Parker: Ultimate Spider-Man
Thomas Blake: Catman
Bucky Barnes: Bucky/Captain America

The best part is that most of the superheroes that were "dead" when I made this comic have been brought back to life since then.

THE UNDERARCH!
