I guess I knew it at the time. But was the type of fake-comic-writer that got a story in my head and then I'd make it work in the comic. No matter how clunky that shit was.
On page 11 we saw Future Logan take the team into his time-machine to 2029. Then up there on page 12 the boys are locked in the Restrictubes.
I thought I explained what happened well enough but I got a couple of complaints from "readers" (which really means "people I work with") that they didn't understand what was going on.
It bothered me so much that I wrote the scene between pages 11 & 12 into the intro of the next issue.
So you have that to look forward to.
Anyway, check out Connor on page 12. He's already figured out the secret to this story-arc!
I, on the other hand, had yet to figure out the secret behind leaving space in a panel for word-balloons.

I like the restrictubes and the fact Brendan's future self is basically Mel Cooley with a time machine. Did you ever explain how Brendan's hair got darker? Just curious.

DeleteThe real answer: Real-life Brendan has brown hair. Back in 2009 I was just using Sharpies to ink MS1 & had to make the decision to make Brendan's hair "clear" or "black". I went with "clear". But when it was time to introduce Future Brendan, I just went with "black" despite the inconsistencies.
The comic answer: SPOILER ALERT!!!!: The boys find out in #3 that they're on an alternate Earth! So Future Brendan is actually Fake-Future Brendan.
Either way, the good news is, these days I use fancy Copic markers and both Brendan's now have the same hair color!
Now what I wanna know is, who the hell is Mel Cooley?
